AFRO Hall LLC

The Afrikan’s For Retention & Outreach organization is dedicated to providing a living and learning community for black students that focuses on academic excellence, community outreach, and providing a mentoring program that fosters student development throughout their college experience. We believe that very student is capable of academic success and that every student deserves a safe space to cultivate that success while giving back to the community and uplifting each other through peer mentoring.

Graduate Cultural Resource Center

The Graduate Cultural Resource Center seeks to provide a safer space for students of color, across intersectional identities, to revitalize through solidarity, community-building, and healing, as well as place for intellectual, emotional, social, and physical nourishment through student-run initiatives,  social justice programming, intersectional and anti-oppression advocacy and education. The GCRC aims to center and support the wellbeing of students of color, and hopes to grow in the future, providing job opportunities for graduate students who will run the resource center. The GCRC strives to support political organizing and student activism, and to maintain a mutually supportive relationship with its student members, as they work together in pursuit of a more diverse, inclusive, just, and equitable society.

LGBTQ+ Pride Center

The UC Merced LGBTQ+ Pride Center provides an inclusive space for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Two-Spirit, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Intersex, Pansexual, Omnisexual, same gender loving people and ally students, faculty and staff and their intersecting identities to grow, succeed, build community, experience affirmation and empowerment while at UC Merced through the resources, services, programs, advocacy, and events offered by the center.

Multicultural Center

With a focus on social justice, coalition building, education/training, collective healing and student agency, the Multicultural Center seeks to serve the UC Merced community and aspires to cultivate, explore, provide opportunities for interactions, connections – a sense of belonging, and gain knowledge to be equipped and prepared to thrive in a diverse global society.
