PROGRAMMING SCHOLAR COORDINATOR
Programming Scholar Coordinator - ssist in the planning, implementation & assessment of signature programs. Responsibilities can range from processing paperwork, independently coordinating events to co-presenting with professional staff.
- Provide support to cultural clubs & organization & to provide support related to planning, implementing, publicizing, & evaluating events.
- Partner with Graphic Designers to provide program & event information for the website, calendar, social media & newsletter
- Assist in recruiting and organizing volunteers for programs & events
- Compile tabling & outreach materials about programs & events in a timely manner
- Manage, develop, and file assessment, & semester reports of all programming activities in collaboration with professional staff

The Office of Social Justice Initiatives & Identity Programs works to support many identities on our campus. With that in mind, we have four (4) emphasis areas that the Programming Scholar Coordinators can focus on:

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR ALL SCHOLAR COORDINATORS
In addition to the above responsibilities, all Scholar Coordinators are expected to provide the below support for the SJIIP office:
Administrative
- Management of office email account & various correspondence, including the response to &/or forward messages appropriately
- Documentation and referral of visitors who are in crisis or emergency situations
- Complete & submit progress reports regarding task and project development in a timely manner
- Complete, submit & maintain files associated with unit binders in a timely manner
Front Desk
- Greet and intake visitors of office and retention centers, determine & track their needs, introduce them to center & office resources, programs & services, & community members, make appointments with professional staff as appropriate based on request or need.
- Maintain confidentiality of visitors &/or clients & information related to requests for services &/or support as appropriate
- Trainings, Staff Meetings & Engagement
- Must complete Office of Social Justice Initiatives & Identity Programs Scholar Coordinator Training & unit specific training offered in August
- Attend weekly 1 on 1’s & Social Justice Office team meetings
- Must participate with & complete Social Justice Retreat, Queer Ally Program & Gender Expansive workshops
Office Hours
- Complete 12 hours of work per week August 2020– May 2021
- Six (6) hours must be completed in the center
- The other six (6) hours can be utilized for meetings, tabling, programming, etc.
- Complete other projects as assigned by professional staff
- Maintain visible presence in the Multicultural Center, LGBTQ+ Pride Center, & the Black Cultural Resource Center during scheduled center office hours
- Table at least 4 hours monthly
